IMG_4127The simplest way to write more now is to DO IT. (And, if you were doing it now you wouldn’t be reading these words.) So stop reading and START WRITING! Go!

(That didn’t work, did it?)

Truth is, you’re distracted every day by dozens of things that keep you from putting words on the page. Some of those things are important (like your money-making job, or spending time with your family.) Other things are – less urgent: responding to that crazy Facebook post, for example. And, while it’s true that that many of your “distractions” are the things that make you who you are, you want to write more.

I grew up in New York, the home of hustle and bustle – neon signs and traffic noise. In the midst of it all, I taught myself to show up at the page. I learned to get good writing done on the subway. You, too, can leap over the distractions and writemore than you’re writing now.

Scheduling, discipline, focus – all these things help. And knowing yourself helps, too.

To get you started, I’ve created a 30 day writing challenge. From the day after you sign up, you get a daily email with a prompt to journal about your relationship to writing and a prompt to write your stuff. The self-reflection and the consistency will help you write more. And it’s crazy-affordable: $2 a day. Improve your writing groove for $60 – a pretty good deal if you ask me.

Sign up here.

Happy writing!
